Neil Wagner announces his Retirement from International cricket

New Zealand cricketer quick retires after being told that he would not be selected in the upcoming series aganist Australia.

Neil Wagner has announced that he is going to retire from International cricket.

On Tuesday he announce his retirement from International cricket after being told that he would not be selected for upcoming series match against Australia.

Wagner has made the emotional decision at 37 following a tough conversation with coach Gary Stead.He announced his retirement at press conference on Tuesday. He had played 64 Tests for his adopted country having moved acroos from South Africa. He has talken 260 wickets at 27.57 with strike rate of just 52.7.

He told “I knew that the time was coming near,they sometimes say when you think about retirement .Iknew the time was going to come close.Ithought it was the right time to step backward and let the other guy come foreward and do what we’ve been doing as a group for a number of years and obviously grow that attack.”

Wagner broke down in tears as he thanked his family, friends, coaches and mentors who were standing near him in his whole journey. He said he hope the New Zealand public would remember him as someone who gave his life all for the cap.

It is a sad moment for us as a legend in the field of cricket is moving down from cricket. Let’s hope for the best.
